Excited to be an El Paso Tiger!

To my new students/parents,

I recently moved to El Paso, and am very excited to be working at one of the best high school's in the city. Not to mention, I'm joining you all for a very exciting year in the history of El Paso High- it's centennial birthday! Additionally, EPHS is currently the only non-specialized high school in the entire district to hold all 7 distinctions per the state of Texas.

I'm eager to embark on a year of teaching and learning with you all, as we analyze the history of the world. First, allow me to introduce myself. I'm from Miami, FL and have a bachelor's in Social Science Education (and a certificate in Latin American Studies) as well as a master's in Educational Leadership from Florida International University. I've been a teacher for 5 years, and served as an Assistant Principal for the last two years. I started teaching at a low-income all girls middle school in NYC, called the Cornelia Connelly Center. Then I moved back to Miami, and taught World Religions, International Relations, and AP US History at Felix Varela High School. For the past two years I was an administrator at HIVE Preparatory, a K-8 charter school. The next chapter of my journey has lead me to El Paso, and back into the classroom with you all!

This blog will allow you to reflect on activities we do in class, and will include postings that may offer extra credit or extended learning opportunities.
